With the majority of our experience gained from working in the local area we are very familiar with tropical North Queensland conditions such as cyclones, long periods of wet weather, high humidity and high temperatures. Our experience and understanding of the fundamental design requirements unique to this environment allows us to produce cost effective, sustainable, tropical designs.
Large awnings, eaves and roof lines reduce direct heat transfer to the interior of buildings. High level windows and operable louvres allow natural ventilation and flow-through of air. Sportsmed on Thuringowa Drive is an example of a building that has been designed to suit the tropical environment whilst providing an aesthetically pleasing exterior.
Receiving a High Commendation – Architectural Steel Design Award from the ASI Steel Awards the building is an example of tropical design that suits the NQ regional city.
