Our Story
Founded in 1984 in Townsville, LCJ Engineers (formerly LC Johnstone and Associates) has developed into a leading multi-disciplined consultancy. Our professional and technical staff have an extensive range of experience predominately in the North Queensland region, however we have been involved in projects throughout Australia.
Our experienced team can meet your requirements throughout all stages of a project. From feasibility studies and planning, detailed analysis and design solutions through to construction monitoring and project handover.
Our standing in the community and delivery of quality, cost effective engineering solutions has enabled us to develop pre-qualified status as follows;

Townsville City Council
LCJ Engineers is prequalified with TCC for the supply and delivery of engineering services. We have a team staff members who are suitably qualified persons for the preparation of erosion and sediment control plans.
Department of Housing and Public Works
LCJ Engineers is prequalified under the Engineering Consultant Scheme and has also achieved Level 3: Industry Best Practice prequalification to undertake consultancies for the Queensland Government.
While we continue to provide economic designs and quality services to our clients we also participate within our local community to further the strategic direction of the profession of engineering. Our founder Ces Johnstone has been recognised as being a leader of the profession by being awarded the position of Fellow Member of Engineers Australia. This is Engineers Australia’s most prestigious award reserved for professional engineers who have made a significant contribution to the profession of engineering.
