LCJ Engineers carried out an assessment of all culverts and bridges at Defence sites in the North Queensland area to ascertain their maximum live load capacity. The sites assessed included Lavarack Barracks, Townsville Field Training Area, Mount Stuart Training Area, Tully Training Area and Ross Island Barracks. Following assessment each bridge and reinforced concrete box culvert was provided with a Military Load Classification (MLC). This MLC number equated to the maximum Defence vehicle that could cross the structure.
