The Calvary Leadership College Sports Centre features a double basketball court under roof that has the ability to convert to netball, badminton and volleyball by utilising the netting fixtures and recessed floor inserts.
The curved roof structure with centre skylights creates a feeling of space while delivering natural light to the courts. Raised vents and louvres provide free-flowing natural ventilation which is enhanced by the installation of giant fans.
Structural design and documentation were completed by LCJ Engineers. The project has recently been awarded the Master Builders North Queensland – 2018 Housing and Construction Award for a Sporting Facility.
